Physiotherapy Management of Faecal Incontinence Workshop
Event description
The Physiotherapy Management of Faecal Incontinence workshop would benefit beginner and more experienced physiotherapists working in the area of Continence and Pelvic Health. This clinically-oriented workshop will outline:
- the types/classification of faecal incontinence
- underlying pathophysiology and contributing factors with reflection on clinical reasoning
- physiotherapy assessment and treatment options.
Demonstration of relevant physical examinations and treatments including the use of biofeedback (rectal balloon) will be provided. The participants will have opportunity to perform mock physical examinations and/or biofeedback treatment. The workshop will conclude with discussion on case summaries.
