PI goes Surfing!

Ready to hit the waves? 🌊

Join PI for a morning of surfing at Trigg Beach on Thursday 30 April at 9:30am - 11.00am with lessons run by the WA Surf School.

Whether you’ve never touched a surfboard before or just want an excuse to get in the ocean, this session is perfect for beginners. Your ticket includes:

• Surfboard hire

• Wetsuit hire

• Beginner-friendly surf lesson

• 1:8 instructor ratio

Whether you are completely new to surfing or simply keen for a fun morning by the ocean, this is a great chance to get outdoors, learn something new, and spend time with other club members 🌞

We will also be offering lifts from UWA 🚗 although this will depend on the capacity of the committee on the day.

What to bring:

• Bathers - (think bikini, bordies or one piece to wear under the wetsuit!)

• Towel

• Water bottle

• Sunscreen

• Thongs / sandals

Information from WA Surfing School

• Our SURF SCHOOL HQ address is 368 West Coast Drive - right on the beautiful Trigg Beach!

• To help navigate, you can put Foam Café into your maps (this is the café attached to our Surf School)

• Showers, bathrooms & change rooms available onsite

• All abilities / confidence levels are welcome – we simply ask you are comfortable floating on your back

• Beginner classes are conducted in shallow waters (no greater than waist-height for each surfer)

• We’ll practice surfing techniques + safety requirements first on the beach

• Experienced coaches will always be with you in the water

• Lesson will include:

  • Coach’s welcome

  • Gear distribution

  • Surf check prior to heading down to surfing area

  • Ocean awareness & safety education when on the sand

  • Skill demonstration & paddle/pop practice, before heading into the water

  • Quality coaching

  • Enough time to wrap-up end of lesson & return gear
