Piano Masterclass with Dr. Jerry Wong

Date: Saturday 9 November
Time: 10AM–2PM
Location: Room 1 (Wollongong Conservatorium Campus)

Join internationally acclaimed pianist and pedagogue Jerry Wong (Head of Keyboard, Melbourne Conservatorium of Music) for an inspiring piano masterclass.

In this interactive session, selected students will receive individual 30-minute lessons with A/Prof Wong, focusing on interpretation, technique, and artistry. Observers are warmly welcome to attend and gain valuable insights into the art of piano performance and teaching.

Fees
  • Lesson Fee: $75 per student (30-minute lesson)

  • Spectator Admission: $5 general admission

  • Complimentary Admission: Parents/siblings of performing students may attend complimentarily.

About Dr. Jerry Wong

Steinway Artist Jerry Wong has been described by Pulitzer Prize-winning critic Martin Bernheimer as “eloquent… sensitivity and a finely-honed sense of style”. He has performed in some of the world’s most prestigious venues including the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, National Concert Hall of Taipei, National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C., Melbourne Recital Centre, Opera City Hall in Tokyo, Severance Hall in Cleveland and Weill Recital Hall in New York City.

His performances and recordings have been broadcast internationally, and his acclaimed discography includes works by Prokofiev, Debussy and Liszt. Wong is also a sought-after pedagogue, having presented masterclasses and lectures across the United States, Europe, Asia and Australasia.

Currently Associate Professor and Head of Keyboard at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, Dr. Wong brings a wealth of artistic insight and teaching experience to his masterclasses.
