Flower Farmer Workshop

Come and be a florist for a day with farmers Jesse and Elke at Bundoora Park Farm!

In this workshop we will explain how to choose the right flower varieties for your environment, where to buy quality seeds and tubers and common issues. We will demonstrate how to prepare soil for planting, plant your seedlings correctly, how to pinch and prune the plants and then guide you on when to harvest different varieties.

Through the session our farmers will share with you the ethical dilemmas that impact the global flower industry and how you as a consumer can make the right choice when buying flowers. At the end of the session you will be able to take home your own ethically grown posie of flowers!

Both our facilitators bring years of knowledge and expertise.

Farmer Jesse has been farming for over 10 years and is our very own farm coordinator.

Varieties you will learn about are Dahlias, Rununculus, Cosmos, Zinnias, Sunflowers and Native flowers such as Lillies, Strawflowers and Billy Buttons.

The ticket price includes a snack with coffee and tea on the farm.
