Learn how to pickle, ferment and preserve local produce!
Learning to preserve food through the ancient art of pickling and fermenting can help you to preserve food, waste less, and tread a little more lightly on the earth. What’s more, jars of pickled home-grown goodness make great sustainable Christmas presents!
This workshop is part of a broader program, supporting you to grow food at home, connect with nature through gardening, and experience positive impacts in health, wellbeing and sustainability.
At this event you will:
- learn how to pickle
- learn how to ferment
- take home a jar of pickles and a jar of sauerkraut
- connect with fellow community members, share gardening experiences, and foster a stronger local grower network.
What to bring:
- 2 clean jars with labels removed
- an apron (only if you want one)
- a drink bottle
