Picnic in the Park, Paddlesports Taster Sessions - Canal Festival

Come down and enjoy a 20 minute taster session on the water in canoes, paddle-boards and kayaks. Enjoy the festival your own way and cool off in the canal.

Make sure you have a towel or something dry to wear in case you find yourself having too much fun and go for a splash.

Picnic in the Park is part of the Edinburgh Canal Festival series and on the 25th of July the park will be buzzing with people, music and food.

We offer the first two 30 minute slots for prebooking so that those keen can get a quick whirl in the morning. After this, all slots will be taken on a first come first serve basis by our lovely team in the park who will be flyering.

Open to adults and kids.

You must be over 8 years old, and any U16 must have an adult present for them to participate, you do not need to be on the water with your child.

We do this event for you to come enjoy our communities little slice of Edinburgh but we have many big projects on the go, so if you can, please donate to our access project! Creating an accessible site for both the able bodies and those with mobility restrictions, Forget old stairs, try a lift, hot showers and warm into seating space! That's the goal, help us achieve it!
