PICS PEPStart Parenting Programme
You are registering for: Group 4 2026 (October-November)
PEPStart is a space for new whānau and babies to come together for social connection, play, professional guidance and parenting education. Get a PEPStart at becoming a PICs Empowered Parent by registering for this programme.
This group if intended for those with babies aged six weeks to six months.
Six consecutive Tuesdays (10AM -12PM) at Salvation Army, Frankton.
$60 per place. If cost is a barrier, please get in touch.
This group programme will cover:
Matrescence – the transition to motherhood.
Feeding/Eating, sleeping, wake periods.
Social connection for babies, social connection for big people (parents).
Mental health and wellbeing education.
And we bring along a range of expert speakers and professionals throughout the programme for extra guidance.
Held in six week blocks multiple times a year, registrations essential as places are limited.
When you register for PEPStart you pay $60 once and then are added to the group for the full six week programme. You only have to register and pay once.
FAQs
- Who can attend?
If you are caring for a new baby between six weeks and six months, then you and baby are welcome to register!
Mums, dads, aunties, friends, nanas and other whānau and support people are invited to join the group as and when you like.
All we ask is you give us a heads up if you are bringing along someone else for a session so we can have enough supplies.
- How does the registration work?
Follow these steps to register for PICS PEPStart:
Open the Humanitix page for the group you want to register for. This will be based on the time of year your baby will be between six weeks and six months.
Register to join, fill in your details and pay for the programme.
That's it! Then you'll attend the six weeks of our awesome programme.
We will send you a confirmation email and reminder emails ahead of the sessions, but you do not need to do anything more except come along and have fun.
- What does it cost?
PEPStart costs $60. It's a once-off payment taken at checkout.
If the cost of the programme means you won't be able to attend, or you would like to discuss alternative payment options - please reach out to pics@clfs.co.nz
We have some limited funding available for those where cost is inaccessible.
- What if I'm sick or away for a session?
Life happens; we get it! Especially with new babies.
We know it can be tricky so if you can't make a session for whatever reason all we ask is you let the team know ahead of time. Once you're registered you will get staff contact details to ensure this is easy.
If you are likely to miss multiple sessions or are not committed to the full programme we politely ask you to reconsider this so we can keep the space open. Our New Parents Drop-In on Thursday mornings at St Johns Frankton might be a better fit.
