Trinity College invites you to the second gathering of 2026 for PINC (Parents for the Inclusion of Neurodivergent Children), "The Village Around Your Child": building knowledge, confidence and connection through understanding the people, plans and partnerships that help your child thrive throughout their TC journey.

Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. As children grow, their strengths, needs and goals change. This session is designed to help parents and carers of students aged 8–17 understand the people, plans and partnerships that support their child throughout their school journey at Trinity College. Together, we will explore how support works, how it adapts over time, how to access help both within and outside of school, and what to do when things are not working as expected. Our aim is to build a strong TC community of informed and empowered families who feel confident in navigating support and partnering with the school to help their child succeed.

Our Focus

Knowledge – understanding the roles of TC staff, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), pathways planning, school-based supports and external services.
Confidence – knowing how to seek support, raise concerns, ask questions and advocate for your child when things are not working as expected.
Connection – building relationships with staff and connecting with other families who share similar experiences and goals.
Partnership – understanding how families, schools and external providers can work together to support your child's success.
Growth – recognising that support is flexible and evolves as your child's strengths, needs and goals change throughout their TC journey.
Thriving – developing a shared understanding of how the people, plans and partnerships around your child can help them flourish academically, socially and emotionally while at Trinity College.

Topics We Will Cover

Understanding the different support roles within the school.
The role of case managers, psychologists and the pathways coordinator.
Individual Education Plans (IEPs): purpose, strengths and limitations.
Accessing support within the school and through external providers.
How support changes as children move through different stages of development.
Transition planning and future pathways.
What to do when concerns arise or support is not meeting your child's needs.
Building effective partnerships between home, school and external services.
Opportunities for questions, discussion and connection with other families.

This event will take place in the TC Staff Lounge.
- Originally planned for a different venue, but has been moved into a larger space due to overwhelming demand.
This is a FREE adult-focused presentation for parents/guardians only (no students on this occasion).

Our Speaker: Natalee Calegari (Learning Support Teacher, Trinity College)

Natalee is a teacher, coach and neurodiversity advocate. She started her career as a high school English teacher before returning to university determined to understand why so many high school students struggle with reading and writing. Completing her Masters in this area, she returned to the classroom as a Learning Support and Literacy Teacher, working to develop functional literacy skills in high school students. Natalee is a proud neurodivergent woman who loves hot chips, cats, sewing, Singapore, her son, and talking about neurodiversity.
