Pinchpot Monsters School holiday workshops

Kids can get their hands dirty and use their imaginations in these fun clay workshops.

Using simple hand-building techniques, kids can create a pinch pot monster from clay and then give it personality. Isla Birnie will lead the workshop and help everyone to make their shapes and adhere their body parts together. We'll have examples and support on hand to help kids who haven't worked with clay before.

For kids aged 8 - 12.

Session 1:

9 - 11am Tuesday 29 September: Learn how to make a simple pinch pot; the basic body of your crazy critter. Then add eyes, ears, teeth or tails... whatever you want to give it personality. The monsters will then be bisque-fired in KAN's kiln.

Session 2:

9 - 11am Tuesday 6 October: return to see your newly baked monster, and paint it up with all sorts of crazy colours. The monsters will then be sealed with a coat of varnish to preserve their colour.
