About the Artist
A four-piece band known for its supercharged, hot ragtime jazz with a touch of rock and roll, the Atlanta, GA-based band, Blair Crimmins and the Hookers have dedicated their musical careers to revive and bring Ragtime and 1920s Dixieland jazz to new audiences. However, Crimmins and his backing band, the Hookers don’t focus on some sort of lifeless, era-inspired tribute; their sound, much like the sound they love and are so deeply inspired by is a living, vital thing recorded using modern studio techniques.
SCCF launched the one-of-a-kind concert series, Pine Island Sounds, in 2019 as a special donor event to support critical research and programs to protect local water quality. It has become an island favorite and tickets sell quickly! Thanks to the Marcums for making this series possible.
