Pinecones and Portals Presents: March Campfire Stories
Description
Join the Pinecones and Portals crew for an intimate evening of storytelling, live music, and s'mores! (Suitable for humans ages 4 - 104.)
Let’s celebrate the transition back into spring!
March Campfire Stories features Juliana Frick telling one of her favorite stories — The Snow Queen. In this old tale we learn how Gerda’s devotion to her friend Kai (who has mysteriously gone missing) inspires her courage and ingenuity, and we feel how the warmth of their reunion thaws the ice of winter. Our event also features the musical whimsy of Kam!

ABOUT THE STORYTELLER
Juliana Frick is an award-winning physical theater artist, acrobat and former musician based in Berkeley, CA. She’s the founder and director of Pinecones and Portals Hiking Theater Company!
She grew up touring with acclaimed youth-troupe Circus Smirkus from ages nine to fifteen. Juliana received a BA in music and storytelling from Hampshire College in Western, MA, completed the professional training program at Dell’Arte International, and trained under James Donlon and Leonard Pitt at the Flying Actor Studio. Juliana is a founding core member of the dramatic acrobatic troupe UpLift Physical Theatre.
ABOUT THE MUSICIAN
Kam uplifts us and makes us giggle with their guitar and a little baby keyboard this March. Kam has lived in glamorous cities, rural farms, desolate desert, on a bicycle, deep in the folds of tropical paradise, the beach, creative artistic communities, dirty punk houses, and cardboard boxes. It’s a delight to listen to them by firelight!
*It costs us $500 to produce one Campfire Stories event, and our events are cozy -- we cap admission at 25. A $20 ticket allows us to break even, and any "generosity" ticket price above that allows us to grow the series with the magical additions we're currently raising funds for. Is $20 out of reach for you? We set aside some $5 tickets for each show. Email us at info@pinconesandportals.com with the subject line "Low Cost Campfire Stories Tix" and let us know which event you'd like to attend. We'll let you know if we have any low-cost spots left!
