Pink Rover Campaign - Women In Stem Panel Night
Event description
Join us at our upcoming Pink Rover Women in STEM night.
Last year, Monash Nova Rover launched our Pink Rover Campaign. The Pink Rover's mission is to ignite conversations about women in STEM, aiming to broaden participation and promote inclusivity.
Our Women in STEM panel night has played a significant part in our Pink Rover Campaign since its inception last year. It acts as a platform to discuss and bring visibility to the barriers and biases that women face entering STEM. This year we will highlight the journeys and achievements of our guest speakers who are prominent women in STEM and ask them to share their experiences.
Speakers:
- Louisa De Vries - Consulting Manager at Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions
- Dr Elizabeth Zavitz - Senior Lecturer, Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering at Monash University
- Professor Dana Kulic - Director of Monash Robotics at Monash University
- Nicci Rossouw - CEO of Robotics Australia Group
- Nikita Le Messurier - AWS Startup Advisor and Tech Investor
- Alexandra McGrath - Operational Control & Management Systems (OCMS) Engineering Manager at VLine
Agenda:
The evening will begin with an opening address by a member of the engineering faculty. Followed by the main panel event, led by our team lead, Parmis Hassani where they will take a deep dive into the topic of the night, Human-Machine Interaction and Augmented Reality: Exploring the intersection of engineering and psychology in designing intuitive and user-friendly human-machine interfaces, as well as the potential applications of augmented reality in various industries beyond gaming and entertainment. Afterwards, the audience will have the chance to engage directly with the speakers in a Q&A session.
The night will conclude with an industry networking session, where attendees can speak with various student team representatives and panelists to learn more about career pathways into STEM as well as their goals for diversity.
