PiP in Person - Conversations across the Continuum: Prevention in Theory and Practice (in-person and livestreamed)

Treetops, Melbourne Museum
Carlton VIC, Australia
Add to calendar

Description

The primary prevention workforce in Victoria is skilled, committed, growing and delivering on transformative change every day. Primary prevention aims to shift the systems and norms that enable violence to thrive. But it will only be effective when working in complementary ways across the prevention continuum, and in solidarity with broader efforts in the family violence system.

Amidst increased community attention to family and gender-based violence, we need all parts of our system connected, and reinforcing of one another. How can primary prevention be connected to a broader system of efforts? What does greater integration and exchange across the prevention continuum look like in practice? How can that work be supported?

Join us for a panel of leaders and practitioners as they share stories from practice. Morning tea will be provided, along with ample opportunity to connect with colleagues across the family violence system.

Panellists include:

Genwest - Shweta Kawatra Dakin, Project Sitara

You can read more about Shweta's work here in our new Portraits of Prevention

Djirra - Kelly Faldon, Community Engagement Cultural Lead, Dilly Bag

Event aims

The aim of the PiP and Person morning tea is to continue the conversation about the interconnectedness of our work across the prevention continuum, and how important it is for all parts of the system to be connected and reinforcing of one another. By creating space for connection and discussion, this event will offer ample opportunity to share our work and stand in solidarity with each other.

Evaluation

Following the event, there will be an evaluation survey emailed to all attendees. We ask that you please complete this survey so that we can understand what worked well, how we could improve in the future, and other topics and activities that could support you in your practice.
