Pitch for Good Parramatta 2025 - Pitch Night!

Are you passionate about supporting positive change in Parramatta? What if your $30 ticket could become $60 for a local impact project?

Join us for the 2025 Pitch for Good Parramatta event, and hear from 6 local changemakers and their pursuits for social impact. Instead of giving all the decision-making power to a panel of judges, Pitch for Good empowers you as a member of the audience to select your favourites and donate the value of your ticket to their project. Your $30 ticket becomes your vote and thanks to support from the City of Parramatta and Gateway Bank, your contribution will be doubled to $60, going directly to the projects you choose to back.

Our crowdfunders are:

• Carers Corner is raising money to deliver a Carer Onboarding & Wellbeing Day in Parramatta - equipping unpaid family carers with a roadmap, tools and community to care for their loved one/s without compromising their own wellbeing.

• FutureTech is raising funds to bring their Peer Support STEAM Saturdays to Parramatta, opening new opportunities for neurodivergent young people to connect, create, and learn together

• Women's Lantern is launching their social enterprise empowering migrant women survivors of violence with skills training, economic pathways & wellbeing support - each solar lantern they sell symbolises healing, hope, and resilience.

• FTD Circular is building a free directory so locals can find reuse options, cut waste & support jobs. Your support reduces landfill & powers a thriving circular economy.

• Polylop Games is hosting the CONVERGE Games Carnival: a Parramatta-based event featuring a curated collection of multiplayer games, building a lasting local community of social gamers and non-gamers alike.

• Success Works Partners wants to purchase a test and tag machine to launch their social enterprise, which will create part-time employment opportunities for four women impacted by the justice system.

What to expect on the night

Join us for engaging pitches from local changemakers, delicious food from Parramatta-based social enterprises (included in your ticket price) and energising conversations with other audience members who want to support positive change in Parramatta. In addition to the night's presentations, there will be stalls run by local social enterprises for you to browse and purchase from. 

The story behind Pitch for Good Parramatta

This live event is part of a longer collaborative program delivered by StartSomeGood and the City of Parramatta. Now in its 9th round in 2025, the program has supported dozens of local changemakers to develop their ideas into launch-ready impact projects. With StartSomeGood’s support, our six presenters have developed crowdfunding campaigns to share their story, rally supporters, and secure the funds to launch their projects. Our annual Pitch for Good live event is a highlight for both the program participants and the broader Parramatta community who get to join in for the night!

This on-and off-line combination of campaigning for their impact project helps them overcome one of the greatest challenges in crowdfunding: how to connect with their local community, and get their story out to potential contributors. The City of Parramatta is presenting a range of engaging and interactive activities to celebrate World Social Enterprise Day on Thursday 20 November. • A Sustainable Procurement Business Expo - find out about the goods and services being offered by a huge range of Social Enterprise and First Nations businesses in our community;

• A forum on the contribution of female social entrepreneurs on Civic Wealth Creation in Parramatta, presented in partnership with the UNSW Centre for Social Impact

• An 'Introduction to Social Enterprise' workshop by Tom Dawkins
