Pitch Up Wagga Wagga Live Crowdfunding Event - Supporting Our Community
Event description
Pitch Up Wagga Wagga is a joint venture with The Funding Network Australia partnering with WDF Accounting & Advisory, Macarthur Real Estate and Hume Bank to support 3 local grassroots for-purpose organisations to share their story, raise vital funds and take their growth to a whole new level supporting more people in the local community.
Project #1: Pro Patria Centre
Pro Patria Centre is an innovative multidisciplinary facility based in Wagga Wagga focused on developing
self-agency in veterans, first responders and their families to manage their own health and wellbeing. They are
making a difference through connecting veterans and first responders with psycho-social support
programs that enable life long learning for better physical and mental health.
Meet the presenter: Jason Frost, Board Director
Jason Frost (SGT retired) has devoted 16 years to the Australian Army, serving in the 2 Commando Regiment.
Jason now is the President of the Defence Shed Wagga Wagga and has been awarded a NSW Government Community
Service Award for his tireless advocacy and work for returned service people to have access to modern treatments.
Jason has been described as a voice for those that struggle, powerfully sharing his story to help others and
increase the community's awareness to the plight of modern veterans.
Project #2: Carevan Wagga
Carevan Wagga seeks to address current community concerns about the level of homelessness, disadvantage, social
isolation and food insecurity in the community by providing meals and connection. People, both individuals
and in families, need to feel connected, valued and included, to be respected and given a sense of dignity and
worth. Sharing a meal is a great way to do this, and that is the magic of Carevan Wagga Wagga.
Meet the presenter: Bronwyn Boyle, Committee Chairperson
Bronwyn is an Executive Coach with Bronwyn Boyle Consulting and Executive Director of BNI Riverina Murray. New to the Board of Carevan, Bronwyn is proud to be part of a community that strives to ensure everyone feels welcome and a sense of belonging.
Project #3: Bloss - Riverina Pregnancy & Baby Loss Support
Bloss – Riverina Pregnancy and Baby Loss provide support to families who have lost a baby through miscarriage, pregnancy, stillbirth & neonatal death. Bloss fills a critical gap in Wagga as often families in regional areas get nowhere near the same levels of support that grieving families receive in the major cities. Bloss provide support by holding remembrance events, peer support groups, gifting care packs and remembrance items, and supporting families through difficult milestones and acknowledgement for Bereaved Mothers Day, Bereaved Fathers’ Day and Christmas.
Meet the presenter: Jack Hillis, President
Jack Hillis joined Bloss after witnessing the profound effect the charity had on his wife after the death of their son Hugo. Jack passionately works to instil the strength and hope for other families who have experienced baby loss in the Riverina and to ensure that every family receives the support and care they need.
