    ABOUT THE EVENT:

A showcase of young startup founders

From pioneering sea moss gel to enhance public health to redefining password security with portable devices and safeguarding digital safety against deepfake, 9 emerging innovators and entrepreneurs will pitch in front of the judges and audiences for 3 minutes sharp. Not simply motivated by the $10,000 prize, these purpose-driven startup ideas are eyeing for the grand ambitions of providing systematic change.

    'True Colours' panel discussion

In the fast-paced, high-stakes world of startups, entrepreneurs often feel pressured to present an invincible front. But what happens when founders let down their guard and show their true selves? This 40-minute panel discussion aims to explore the softer, more human sides of being an entrepreneur. We dive into the concept of authenticity, emotional vulnerability, and how these qualities can be not just coping mechanisms but strategic assets in the startup ecosystem.

    Confirmed panel speakers:

    • Seva Mozhaev - TEDx Speaker, TikTok Creator, CEO of creative agency SevEra
    • Josh Van Ross - Founder and Managing Director at Drone Sky Shows, Lance Corporal in the Australian Army Reserves
    • Jessica Bailey - Inspirational Speaker, Author, Screenwriter & Director of 'I'm not a nurse'
    • Ceyda Genc - Managing Director at Turkish Bakeries
    • Andrew Larsen - Investment Director at Larsen Ventures, Partner & Investment Committee member at Folklore Ventures

    Socially-conscious catering

While our programs satisfy the hungry minds, our choice of catering will please the hungry stomachs too: We partnered up with Gather Foods, a majority Aboriginal-owned and led business, to celebrate Local First Nations cuisine. Besides the delicious taste, Gather Foods also wins our heart thanks to their integrity and commitment to support First Nations community through employment opportunities.

    Purposeful venue space

Located at the buzzing heart of Perth CBD, ‘The Platform’ is a hub for WA-based change-makers as it’s exclusively dedicated to non-profit and social enterprises. With gorgeous lighting and generous space, where else can we conclude the final chapter of Launchpad Academy 2023?
