We’ve got you sorted for tech week with our epic Facilitated Networking, Pitch Fest, and Pro Panel session.

Even if you aren't pitching, come along and meet some of the fantastic Christchurch start up community. We will begin and end the evening with networking and drinks (some of which are even free!)

The event will be facilitated by Michael Philpott - Michael is an expert in public speaking, presenting, and investment pitch coaching, he’s also a master facilitator and trainer, and the former speaker coach for TEDxChristchurch. He’s helped countless start-ups and executives prepare themselves for their most important talks and presentations. Michael is also the event curator for Christchurch business networking events, LinkedIn local, LinkedIn Social and OriGin, the only business networking gin tasting event in New Zealand.

You will also be joined by Rob Shaddock. Rob is a technology executive whose career has encompassed CTO and CEO roles in companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500s and from embedded computing to consumer electronics.

He currently works as an investor, board director for startups, including New Zealand's Power by Proxi, and adviser on hardware technologies, manufacturing, strategy, and M&A to large and small companies.

The third panel member is Maria Jose Alvarez (MJ), Investment Manager at WNT Ventures. WNT Ventures is New Zealand’s longest running technology incubator, Maria Jose will bring you a wealth of knowledge from an investors point of view.

Michael will kick off the event with a facilitated networking session that’s kind of like speed dating, he’ll have you up and moving as you meet a bunch of new and interesting people with purposeful questions for you to discuss. No more uncomfortable, awful networking experiences for you.

Once everyone’s comfortable and met a few fine folks we’ll launch into the Pitch Fest with our selected five minute pitches, you will be wowed by their ideas and they will be given live in real time feedback. You get to watch and learn!!

Following the Pitch Fest the Pro-Panel will have an open discussion to provide an overview of what investors expect to see, how to sell your idea with tips and tricks to succeed, and what are the most common pitfalls when raising capital. There will be open opportunities for Q&A with the panel so come with some burning questions that you want answered.
