Express Yourself

As a performer, you want to be able to make the most of your natural abilities, right? The reality is: What we think of as our “natural” voice is often anything but.

Most people never realise that the way we speak, the way we sound, is simply a collection of habits acquired from the people who we were surrounded by as we grew up.

Our habitual volume, tone, and inflections are a set of behaviours we have been practicing for years. They're not fixed and we are not “stuck” with the way we sound! When we begin to see our voice as an instrument, we're able to impact more people simply by the way you use your voice.

Express Yourself is all about learning to play your instrument! A fun workshop full of practical exercises and information, that will help you to discover your full range of expression, build vocal skills, and allow you to start playing ALL the music you were born to make!

Come prepared to explore your voice, be a little bit silly, and be surprised. Bring an open mind, a willingness to step out of your comfort zone, and maybe a notebook?

This workshop forms part of the 2025 PITS Annual Improv Festival and all proceeds go to supporting the growth of improvised theatre in Perth.
