PJ Orr + Dusken Lights + Davidson

PJ Orr channels cosmic Americana through a distinctly Australian widescreen lens, a place where angular indie rock and avant-noise dissolve into alt folk-pop. The four-piece outfit drifts between hypnotic motorik grooves, pastoral folk textures and chiming guitar reverie; their sound traces loose constellations between luminaries such as Neil Young, The Kinks, The Replacements, The Velvet Underground, Lemonheads, The Triffids and the Grateful Dead, while sitting alongside contemporaries such as Wilco, MJ Lenderman, Kurt Vile, This Is Lorelei and Way Dynamic. This is music that feels both freshly-minted and refreshingly loose, but always strangely familiar. Dusken Lights is an Indie-folk band, comprising ex-members of formative Australian groups The Cannanes and Rabbits Wedding. Paul Watling does guitar and vocals, Francesca Bussey is on bass, Philip Rawlinson on drums and Alex Salter takes care of the keyboards.
