Planning Workshops - Bucaan Community House (Chigwell)
Description
Pathways to Preparedness Workshop
Life is full of transitions and unexpected events. Being prepared can help us navigate change, make informed decisions, and build confidence in the future.
Join us for the Pathways to Preparedness Workshop, an engaging and practical session designed for community members who want to strengthen their preparedness for life transitions and emergencies. The workshop will be particularly valuable for people with disability, families, carers, and support networks seeking to build resilience and plan ahead.
During the workshop, participants will explore:
Planning for future life transitions, including education, employment, housing, health, relationships, retirement, and changing support needs
Identifying personal goals and developing practical pathways to achieve them
Building resilience, confidence, and decision-making skills during times of change
Strengthening community connections and support networks
Understanding available services, resources, and supports
Developing emergency preparedness strategies using the Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) framework
Participants will learn how the P-CEP approach supports individuals to identify their unique support needs, understand risks, and create personalised emergency plans to stay safe and connected before, during, and after emergency events.
Through interactive discussions, practical activities, and real-world examples, attendees will gain tools and strategies to:
Prepare for significant life changes with confidence
Plan for future goals and changing circumstances
Increase emergency preparedness and resilience
Strengthen independence, wellbeing, and community participation
Who should attend?
This workshop is open to all community members, including people with disability, family members, carers, support workers, service providers, and anyone interested in future planning, resilience, and emergency preparedness.
Together, we'll explore practical ways to prepare for life's transitions and unexpected events, creating stronger, safer, and more connected communities.
About the series
This workshop is part of an ongoing series of sessions that you can attend at your own pace. Feel free to pop in and out of sessions as they suit your needs and interests. Additional face-to-face sessions and short-sessions with guest speakers will be added throughout the program.
Developing your Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) plan is a journey, and it takes time to identify your goals, supports, and preparedness strategies.
