Event description

Walk and Draw – The Rotunda Wetland

A celebration of Wurundjeri Season 'Poorneet' (tadpole)*

Join Draw Plants Together for a ‘walk and draw’ starting at The Rotunda Wetland, Clifton Hill.

A fun and creative day drawing the plant communities of the Merri Merri waterway and the geologies of the easternmost edge of the Victorian Volcanic Plain.

We will be joined by Angela Foley from the Merri Creek Management Committee (MCMC). Angela will share her connection with the place and provide an overview of the amazing community-led history of the Wetland. A big thank you to Angela and to the Merri Creek Management Committee! :)

The Rotunda Wetland is a significant community-led project started in 2000 by MCMC along with a range of other partners. The wetland takes stormwater from nearby streets and transforms this urban waste into a rich sustaining ecology for local frogs and other wildlife via a series of small interconnecting ponds. More info from MCMC here.

Come hang out with the Nardoo, reeds,  rushes, sedges and grasses and experiment with drawing in a friendly setting :)

Craig was an incredible facilitator. Very gentle, informative approach. Every moment of the 2 hours was enjoyable. I felt safe and inspired to be creative and connect with the plants. The best workshop I've taken
