Event description

Learn about wildflower identification in this three-part class. We will learn basic botanical terminology, and how to recognize different parts of a plant. We will practice using a botanical key to identify plants, and also discuss the basics of plant taxonomy. This class is geared towards herbalists, foragers, and anyone else who would like to build basic skills on plant identification. We will also discuss the role of plant identification apps and their strengths and weaknesses for getting accurate identification. 

This is a three-part class meeting three consecutive Sundays June 8th, 15th, and 22nd.

This class will use the Newcomb's Wildflower Guide as a primary text and Elpel's Botany in a Day as a supplemental text. Please purchase these books in advance of the first class.
