Event description

Plant propagation is an excellent life skill to have and an essential one for any gardener. It’s the best way to affordably develop your garden, create kilos of food for free, build up local food security, and very enjoyable!

Join our horticulturalist Katie to learn all the main propagation techniques which can be applied to indoor and outdoor plants. Under Katie’s guidance you can try each method yourself and leave with a range of newly propagated plants. This workshop is comprehensive and hands-on and inspiring. You might even leave with a cutting of the famous City Farm mulberry tree!

Katie is a horticulturist with experience in a broad range of sectors. She loves to share her knowledge and skills with others and help them troubleshoot their plant woes as well as bask in the successes.

Our weekly farmer's market will be in full swing during your workshop, so it's worth arriving a little early to check out the stalls and maybe buy some fresh produce.

Perth City Farm is a community urban farm that supports connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.
