Uncover Floral Wonders at The Wetlands Centre’s Conservation Nursery

Date: Friday, 21 August 2026

Time: 9:30 am to 1:30 pm

Event Location:
The Education Room at the Wetlands Centre Cockburn
184 Hope Road, Bibra Lake WA 6163

Join The Wetlands Centre's Conservation Nursery experts to uncover the art of propagating species. Led by a passionate team of conservation horticulturalists, botanists, and volunteers, the nursery is a space for biodiversity, annually cultivating thousands of plants for gardens, revegetation, and wetlands. In this session, you will discover some secrets of propagating and nurturing native Western Australian plants using locally sourced materials, as well as propagation methods used across our local plant families.

"This workshop is truly unique. I’ll be delving into plant families, which will let you accurately identify which family a certain species of plant comes from. Knowing that, you can apply the propagation techniques you learn here to any plant, and you will see success with it."
— Hazel Dempster, native plants and propagation expert for over 50 years.
