Plantathon - Youth Leading Wodonga
Join us for the region's first youth-led Plantathon at Gateway Lakes, Wodonga!
A fun day for 12-25 year-olds, organised by Wodonga Urban Landcare Network and Wodonga Council's FReeZA and Friends Youth Committee.
Help plant up to 2000 native grasses, shrubs and trees around Gateway Lake to provide food, shelter and nesting sites for squirrel gliders, birds, turtles, frogs and other native animals.
There will be music, environmental pop quizzes, prizes and a free BBQ lunch.
Lunch will include vegetarian options and sausages that are gluten, dairy and soy-free.
Please bring your own water bottle, sturdy shoes, sun smart clothing, a hat and gardening gloves (if you own a pair)
Free bus transport is available from 13 Havelock St Wodonga (long vehicle bay near Wodonga Council carpark).
Board the bus at 9.30am sharp and be returned to Wodonga Council by 12.45pm.
The Plantathon is a Youth Leading Wodonga project, coordinated by Wodonga Urban Landcare Network, supported by Wodonga Council and the FReeZA and Friends Group, with joint funding from the Victorian Government through the Environmental Volunteering New Growth Project and the Australian Government under the Murray–Darling Healthy Rivers Program.
