Planting - Darebin Creek Reserve, hosted by Darebin Creek Committee of Management

Play your part in planting over 10,000 seedlings for the 2025 season with expert facilitators from the Darebin Creek Management Committee (DCMC). The event will bring the community together for recreation and restoration on the banks of the Darebin Creek. Take the opportunity to deepen connections with people and nature through planting seedlings to restore this prominent creek line, that flows predominantly south for approximately 50 kilometres through several municipalities, including the Cities of Whittlesea, Darebin, Banyule and Yarra. You can also join OzFish to discover how 'fish motels' support aquatic life and learn how to build one - soon to be placed in the Darebin Creek to support important in-stream habitat!

Please bring suitable footwear, sunscreen and a water bottle. Refreshments provided.  

This planting location is facilitated by Darebin Creek Management Committee and forms part of The Darebin Creek Habitat Project – an OzFish/DCMC partnership funded by Microsoft and the Australian Government’s Urban Rivers and Catchments Program, with the support of the City of Darebin. 

Where: Meet at the Darebin Creek in Reservoir, near the cricket practice nets at CT Barling Reserve on Plenty Road.  

Getting there: CT Barling Reserve is on the 86 tram route, the nearest stop is number 56n at Reservoir High School. Please note that parking is limited, so we encourage the use of public transport if possible. If coming by car, you will need to seek parking nearby - across the road (either side of the hockey ground) or at the Reservoir High School.
