    Event description

    Join us for an Australian Pollinator Week workshop where you'll delve into Adelaide's native bee and butterfly species and their crucial plant partnerships.

    This session is presented by Shane Meyer, a local author with a passion for native bees, butterflies and native plants, backed by a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science (Conservation and Park Management).
    Learn about;

    • Our local native bee and pollinator species that you are likely to see
    • How can we attract more native pollinators to our garden
    • What to plant!
    • The benefits of pollinators such as bees to our biodiversity (and our fruit and vegie gardens!)

    Explore our selection of local native plants for sale, perfect for kickstarting your own bee-friendly garden at home!

    Shane has authored two engaging children's books, 'Belle the Blue Banded Bee' and 'The Hungry Honeyeater', to inspire young minds about nature and the significance of our native insects and birds.

    This event is seeded by Green Adelaide and hosted by the Mount Barker Community Library.
