Event description

Planting for Pollinators - Presentation by ACT for Bees

Would you like to learn about what plants to plant to encourage a variety of pollinators into your garden?

As part of SouthFest 2024 and aligning with Australian Pollinators Week, this presentation by ACT for Bees will increase your knowledge on the types of plants favoured by pollinators (bees, butterflies, moths, birds and other insects).

Australian Pollinator Week acknowledges our important and unique insect pollinators during our southern spring (November). It is a designated week when communities, businesses and organisations can come together to raise awareness of the importance of pollinators and support their needs. During this presentation, ACT for Bees will explore:

  • the importance of pollinators for the biodiversity of flowering plants and pollination of food  crops.
  • the type of plants preferred by pollinators.
  • specific Australian native plants that attract Australian native bees.

By the end of this presentation, you'll have increased knowledge of what plants to grow and have the opportunity to ask questions.

So come join us and learn how to attract pollinators to your garden.

Brought to you by Communities at Work and ACT for Bees.
