In this workshop, Victoria Spence and members of the Life Rites team, gently guide us through how to begin conversations about this most important time in our lives. Drawing from lived experience and professional experience, they share their knowledge and information to help us know what is important to us and those we love.

Ben Gibson - The Masculine Response to Death 

Ben Gibson discusses how gender can influence the way we prepare for, respond to and sit with dying and death in our lives. 

Kim Somerville - Reflections on end of life doula and after death home care’ 

Kim Somerville reflects upon the care she has offered families as a doula, in a dying, death and after death journey in the home. 

Chantel Jurcevic- ‘ Caring for the Carers’ 

Drawing from her lived experience as both a carer and carer peer worker in mental health services, Chantel shares insights and wisdom on how we can better support our carers. 

Victoria Spence - Tending to your Mortality Garden 

Completing our afternoon, Victoria will offer us ways to continue to care for ourselves and our mortality garden.
