Platform x Limitless Play: Performance Night ft. Ether, MaggZ & second skin.
Event description
🗓 Friday 7 November | 7–9pm
📍 No Vacancy Gallery, QV Building, 34–40 Jane Bell Ln, Melbourne
🎟 $30–35 | Limited capacity
For the first time, Platform Presents is curating an intimate, performance night — a quiet evening of live music and movement unfolding within the exhibition Limitless Play as part of our No Vacancy Gallery takover.
Blurring sound, body, and emotion, three artists explore transformation, reflection, and world-building through music and motion.
second skin — the downtempo, alt-pop alias of Korean-Australian artist nabii — opens the evening with ethereal vocals and moody basslines. A trip-hop nightcap to soundtrack your comedown, second skin embodies raw reflection and beauty in melancholy — a space to sit with heavier emotions and find stillness in sound.
MaggZ follows with SpringCity — a multisensory performance that merges movement, sound, and installation. Inspired by their hometown of Kunming (Yunnan, China), SpringCity reimagines the city as a futuristic vision shaped by world-building, cyberfeminism, and ancestral practices. Through a diasporic lens, MaggZ invites us to dream boldly and step beyond societal norms.
Closing the night, Ether presents Artefact_VOID — a sacred procession, a lost prophet, a glimpse into an evolved corporeal realm. Rooted in street-style choreography, their performance fuses ritual and creature-like movement, transforming the body into an offering of open heartspace.
Between performances, guests are invited to preview the exhibition Limitless Play — a group show exploring connection, curiosity, and experimentation through visual art and installation.
All bar proceeds will be donated to the Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency.
Please arrive on time. Doors will close at 7:15pm in respect for our artists and to preserve the intimacy of the experience.
