Game Plus & SAGA - Playback July 2025
Event description
The South Australian Games Association and Game Plus are partnering to present Playback on Wednesday the 30th of July, 5:30pm.
Playback is a showcase & playtest opportunity for local games and more. We encourage attendees to bring your own projects for testing. At each session we will have short presentations with time for Q&A.
At every Playback we have presentations or spotlight local developers, this month we have Ashleigh Allon who brings over a decade of experience in creative recruitment across Gaming, VFX and Animation, and will share practical, honest insights into how developers and artists can better connect with industry on employment opportunities. This talk will cover what recruiters actually look for, how to prepare before applying, and simple steps to make the job-seeking process less daunting. She’ll unpack how to communicate confidently, build relationships, and approach the job hunt with intention (and less fear!). Whether you’re just graduating or looking to transition between roles, you’ll walk away with tools and mindsets to help you show up, stand out, and connect meaningfully with studios and recruiters alike. Bring your questions—it’s all fair game!
Before, after and in-between presentations everyone attending is invited to bring many of their own hardware and projects that they are working on to share with the local development community. Examples are, but not limited to: video games, tabletop board games, rpgs, prototypes and showreels!
We will have desks and power points available for your equipment. Light catering will provided by Game Plus.
The door code for entry to Game Plus will be emailed to attendees before the event begins.
