In the innovation space, a founder is never truly alone, rather there are a number of players involved as things get going and growing. Co-founders, investors, advisors, contractors, suppliers, distributors and eventually, customers! Each of these really need a paper trail... a contract clearly setting out expectations and plans for if, or when, things go pear shaped (heaven forbid).
In this workshop, Donna Patane will help you to get clear on who the players are in your business, their respective rights and obligations, understand the importance of paper trails and the types of things that should be clearly documented, and how to be clear on where any IP you generate sits.
Donna Patane is a lawyer, registered trademarks attorney, and North Queensland’s expert in IP and startups. In 2020 Donna founded DRIPL, a modern firm which offers legal and strategic advice on IP and trademark protection and enforcement, founder and investor relationships and commercialisation terms and deals throughout Australia and internationally.
