PLAYING HARDBALL: The Business of Modern Sports Media.
Event description
Famous victories, devastating defeats, and (so often) jaw-dropping scandals along the way. What makes an Australian sporting moment “great”?
Usually, it is the media covering it.
Join co-hosts, The Kennedy Foundation and Telum Media and a panel of Australia’s leading sports journalists and broadcasters as we unravel the challenges of sport reporting in a modern media landscape. The implications of sponsor funding, challenges presented by the 24/7 news cycle, pros and cons of new media platforms and the rise of women’s sport will all be in play. No topic is out of bounds.
This event is fittingly being hosted in the city known as Australia’s sporting capital – Melbourne. It is the first joint Kennedy Foundation and Telum Media networking event of the year, designed to bring together journalists and media professionals around engaging and topical debate. There will be time to chat over canapes and drinks before and after the panel.
We look forward to seeing you.
