An experiment in movement, glitch and staying~ with the trouble ///////
~~~~~~~~~~~~\~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello!
In my residency at Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts I'll be developing a new interactive video work, and would like to invite a small group of people to experiment with it.
This is an early-stage, work in progress. For it's development, I'm exploring what happens when bodies and machines interfere with one another, and how we might make mess together without knowing where it's going.
We'll begin with a short introduction to my practice and some ideas from glitch theory, before moving into guided movement improvisation, live camera experiments and video synthesis. Expect play, distortion, feedback, repetition, unexpected images and a gradual loosening of instructions.
Your participation, observations and feedback will help inform the next stages of the work :)
No movement or technical experience required. You're welcome to participate at your own pace or observe. I'd love to document parts of the workshop for future development, but photography and filming will only take place with your consent.
THURSDAY 26 NOV 6 - 8 PM
SATURDAY 28 NOV 1 - 3 PM
4 - 5 participants per session. Both sessions will follow the same format.
