What is Plus1?
Plus1 is a program to assist small-to-medium not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations (annual revenue under 5 million) develop their fundraising capacity, attract private sector support, grow stronger and broader networks and build supportive partnerships.
The program pledges dollar-for-dollar matched funding of monies raised through a nominated fundraising campaign. Successful organisations are able to leverage this pledge to help develop and secure support.
Plus1 is divided into two streams:
Stream A: for applicants with an annual turnover in the previous financial year of up to $500,000. Stream A applicants are eligible to request up to $25,000 in matched funding.
Stream B: for applicants with an annual turnover in the previous financial year from $500,000 up to and including $5 million. Stream B applicants are eligible to request up to $50,000 in matched funding.

NT specific Plus1 program
Five NT organisations participated in the Plus1 program in 2024/2025 (Gary Lang NT Dance, Darwin Entertainment Centre, Central Craft, Iltja Ntjarra (Many Hands) Art Centre and CAAMA). To support those organisations to participate Creative Australia delivered a pilot program specifically for NT Plus1 organisations. We will be running the same program again this year. |
This means that NT organisations who apply, and are accepted into the Plus1 program, will be provided with an additional program of fundraising capability support. The aim is to provide additional wrap around fundraising skills development and capability building for NT organisations to set them up for Plus1 success. If you are an eligible organisation, I’d encourage you to apply!
The Plus1 NT program will be comprised of:
An in-person 2-day group workshop with all participating NT organisations to be held in either Darwin or Alice Springs (location TBC). The workshop will take place in the period between 20 Oct and 7 November. All travel expenses (where travel is required) will be covered for two participants from each organisation to attend.
Monthly coaching and advice sessions with me throughout your fundraising campaign.
An optional board workshop delivered by Hannah Kothe, State Manager Development and Partnerships (SA/NT) either online or in person to engage your board in fundraising.
By engaging with me through coaching and advice sessions, workshops and facilitated peer-to-peer networking opportunities, you agree to the State Manager Development and Partnerships: Terms of Service.
