"Extreme States: Urgency in Poetry"

Urgency is an element that can arise from radically different places in the psyche. The focus is on the work of Wanda Coleman, a distinguished Black Los Angeles poet who passed in 2013. Her work has only become more important & discussed in the last ten years. We’ll be looking at music, spirituality, and rage as accelerants for creativity.
