National Poetry Day is a nationwide celebration of poetry in Aotearoa New Zealand, held annually on the 4th Friday in August.
National Poetry Day was established in 1997, and is overssen by the New Zealand Book Awards Trust Te Ohu Tiaki i Te Rau Hiringa.

Winter Wonderfest is an annual community festival coordinated by the Women's Network Whanganui. Whanganui District Library and many other community organisations participate by providing events.
