Poetry – Spring Soirée

Thursday, 16th October 2025

Join us for an evening of poetry, music, and community spirit at the Petersham Bowling Club.
We’ll kick things off with Open Mic from 6:30 PM, followed by our three feature poets.

🎤 Feature Poets

Christopher Michaels – A true bohemian at heart, Christopher has lived the artistic life in full colour. His work blends poetry, prose, and visual art, exploring themes with a philosophical edge.

Sonya Nurthen – A poet from Western Sydney who has returned to her creative path after a time away. Inspired by life’s deeper meanings and the loss of a dear friend, Sonya’s poetry reflects renewal and heartfelt expression.

Paul Gibson Roy – Musician and performance poet. Former Melbourne convenor of Marrickville We Three Bar Spoken Word. We’re excited to experience Paul’s vibrant and dynamic performance at the Bowlo.

🕕 Open Mic begins at 6:30 PM
If you’d like to read, please provide your details to Ann (the M.C.) on the night.

💚 Community Support
Until the end of the year, we’re setting up a Humanitix account for donations.
A $5.00 contribution — one less drink — will go towards:

Improving accessibility for people with disabilities
Funding our next poetry anthology
