Gather, sit and write with others. Drawing on the themes of river, memory and land that run through the exhibition, this workshop invites participants to explore poetry as a way of sensing and relating to place. No prior experience is necessary - come with curiosity and openness to listen.

Parminder Kaur Bhandal is a Punjabi-born artist, poet, and librarian living and working on Wurundjeri Country. Rooted in her Punjabi-Sikh heritage and informed by feminine mysticism, her practice explores the relationship between body, land, memory, and devotion. Through the adornment of bodies with flowers, leaves, and natural materials, she reclaims creation as an act of resistance, transforming the body into a site of ritual, regeneration, and quiet power. Drawing on ancestral philosophies such as the Yoga Sutras, her work positions the body as a living altar and a vessel for spiritual and cultural continuity.

Train — Footscray Station is about a 10-minute walk. From the station, head south along Leeds Street towards the centre of Footscray.

Bus — Several routes service central Footscray. The 472 stop nearby on Hopkins Street and Leeds Street.

Car — Parking is available throughout central Footscray, including at the Little Saigon Plaza Car Park.
