About Belinda
Belinda Broughton is a visual artist and poet who began to commit herself to poetry in 2004 after a lifetime of occasional poems. Visual art has taught her the fine art of observation, and words delight throwing themselves at the page. Most of them miss, and end up on the floor or in her hair but never mind.
She specializes in Japanese form poetry and particularly likes haiga (a meld of haiku with image.)
Broughton’s poems are published in anthologies and periodicals, in print and on the internet, in Australia and internationally, and she has won various competitions.
She has been commissioned to research and write for performance to themes such as the history of the Onkaparinga Woolen Mill.
Broughton has three published collections of poems, Sparrow: Poems of a Refugee, A Slip of the Tongue, and Not Looking for Signs.
She blogs (sporadically) at belindabroughton.wordpress.com
