POLTERGEIST 9000 w/ LUNAR LAGOON, SPECIAL GUEST, CLIT SPLIT
Description
Hailing from Nipaluna/Hobart now based in Steel City Newcastle, high-decibel synth-punk duo Poltergeist 9000 (Iggy Clue & Cal 9000) fuse a DIY drum-and-bass format with raw industrial grit. Stripping back their process, their frantic new single ‘Blue Encounter’ marks the first chapter of an instinctive, song-by-song release cycle for 2026 designed to mirror their volatile live sound.
To celebrate, they are hitting Victoria this August for a run of shows across Ballarat, Geelong, and Melbourne, bringing along new friends Lunar Lagoon (Melbourne/Naarm) for the Geelong and Ballarat dates alongside local special guests Special Guest, Clit Slip, LXPR, Equestrian Fields, and Baby Ouzu for the selected shows.

CLIT SPLIT
Hot n spicy, our music is like what the sexy punk at ur local rave listens to.

LUNAR LAGOON
Lunar Lagoon are an alt-electronic group based in Naarm/Melbourne, stemming from the solo works of frontman Joe Nurrish. Now as a collaborative project between Nurrish & Luke Morton, Lunar Lagoon’s live band features members from Heir Traffic, Polly & The Pockets, Everyday Believer + more. Taking influence from Mount Kimble, King Krule, The Streets, The Style Council + more, the group’s angular & rich sound, paired with the moody introspective lyrics of Nurrish, encapsulates the spaces between, the feeling of darkness coinciding with the light, and explores themes of nostalgia & the unknown.

SPECIAL GUEST
The Geelong Post-Junk project, Special Guest, formed in 2024 under “surreal” circumstances, “far beyond the realm of an ordinary musical collaboration” (Beat Magazine). An amalgamation of both post-punk and noise-rock - coined by the group as "Post-Junk"- their artistry is an enticing array of hyper-melodic guitar, tightly wound percussion and theatrical vocals accompanied by unwavering synth glitches. Following their debut show at the Tote supporting Bench Press alongside Screensaver and The Maggie Pills, Special Guest were quick to feature in Beat Magazine – who described them as “unexpected, raw, and a little chaotic”. Enmeshed in a (seemingly unnecessary) alure mystery, Special Guest’s iconography and sound attracts many and confuses even more.
