Zip It Up or Fabric Baskets Sewing Workshop

Sew fun for kids! is a place to learn all about sewing while making fun projects that you can take home and treasure.
In this fun school holiday workshop you will learn how to create one of the following options:
- sew fabric baskets, perfect for organising your room or as gifts for your friends and family. You will be able to design baskets to suit your style, for example with pom pom accents, or practical chalkboard labels. Choose between round or rectangular baskets - make it your own!
- sew your very own pencil case and learn how to sew zippers. We'll have some fabulous vinyl accents and embroidered patches to add on to make it your own.
This workshop is suitable for boys and girls aged 7 and up. All fabrics and accessories are included. There will be a variety of fabrics to choose from on the day to make your project uniquely yours - we also cater for boys' preferences.
You will learn how to:
- use a sewing machine
- sew straight lines, corners and curves
- use decorative stitching or add decorative accents
- line a basket or pencil case
- make your own pom poms.
You will then take home your amazing basket or pencil case!
You will need to bring along a packed afternoon tea and water bottle. Please do not include any food items that contain nuts or traces of nuts.
Sew fun for kids! accepts Service NSW Creative Kids vouchers. If you would like to use a voucher, select the Creative Kids voucher ticket. The ticket price will be reduced to $100 to reflect the use of the $50 voucher. You will also be required to enter:
- the voucher number
- your child's name
- your child's date of birth.
All of these details are required for me to register your voucher.

A minimum of 4 children are required for the workshop to go ahead. This workshop has a maximum of 8 participants.
The workshops run from 12.30 pm to 3.30pm at 4/31 Terminus St, Castle Hill. Our studio has an internal toilet so children do not need to leave the studio during the day.
Please note, we are unable to provide a refund if a cancellation is made less than two weeks prior to the workshop as we will have purchased all of the fabrics and accessories for your child. In the event you are unable to attend we are very happy to provide you with the fabric kit and pattern instructions for you to pick up from the studio and create at home.
