POMA x City Saints | Soil Fertility Experiment Tasting Event
Event description
Join us next Wednesday for a truly special time here at City Saints. We will cup, brew, taste and talk about two coffee lots that were grown under strict lab conditions in Denmark by the POMA coffee team.
Two versions of the Kurume variety, an Ethiopian Landrace originating from the Yirgacheffe region, were grown under identical conditions at POMA's research station - the only difference being the soil fertility. A regular version of the Kurume variety, treated with the standard fertiliser regimen, and an optimised version treated with precision-fertilisers tailored to meet optimal nutrient levels and soil health based on soil and leaf analysis over a 2-year period.
This is a unique opportunity to taste the effects of actual "terroir" on coffee with all other variables removed.
We will taste the POMA experiment alongside with several other pure Kurume lots for an enhanced experience, followed by a casual panel discussion with Anthony Piper (19 Grams, First Love Coffee, Industry Beans) and Frederick Kjærulff-Schmidt (Condesa Co.Lab and Danish Cup Taster champion) - our hosts for this event.
Spaces are limited to 15 guests for this one so get in quick!
