About the session

Join us for an informative and inspiring look into the remarkable 75-year history of the Dogs' Home of Tasmania. As the state’s largest canine welfare organisation, this not-for-profit charity operates four Homes across Tasmania and cares for around 3,000 dogs each year. With no government funding, their essential work, from shelter and veterinary care to rehoming services, is powered by long standing community support, partnerships and a shared love of dogs.

Meet our speaker: Sonia Wood (and a mystery furry guest!)

With more than 15 years of experience at the Hobart Dogs' Home, Sonia brings heartfelt stories and deep insight into the organisation’s journey and the evolving challenges in canine welfare. She will also explore the foster care program, offering a look at how it supports dogs when they need it most, and share practical information about care options available for pets when an owner’s circumstances change.

This is a warm, community focused event - come for the conversation, stay for the connection.
