Event description

I’ll be honest—things feel a little overwhelming right now. But I keep hearing that the antidote to despair is action in community—so that’s exactly what I’m here to do: build connection and raise money for a local cause that matters.

Introducing our very first Pop Up Choir for GOOD Fundraiser with The Salty Voice Teacher! We’re coming together to sing, connect, and support the incredible work of the University District Food Bank.

🎤 Join us on Saturday, May 17 from 3–5pm at Blue Moon Tavern
We’ll be learning two amazing songs:
✨ Hot to Go by Chappell Roan
✨ Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift

No experience? No problem. This isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up, making music, and doing something good together. There’s so much joy in the messy, magical process of learning as a group. I’m here to encourage all the wild, silly, beautiful, ugly, and heartfelt sounds we create.

Let’s sing for a cause. Let’s make some noise—for good.

A bit about the U-District Food Bank:

"For 43 years, University District Food Bank has been a lifeline for families facing hunger.

Today, we're one of the busiest food banks in Seattle, supporting more than 2,500 households each week. That includes:

  • Distributing groceries to 1,500+ families at our University District Pantry
  • Delivering food to 550 homebound households through our Home Delivery program
  • Providing weekend meals to 975+ students in Seattle Public Schools through Packs for Kids
  • Supplying food to 390+ students and families at our satellite pantries at North Seattle College and Magnuson Park

We also go beyond food. Our Community Connector team helps customers access vital services—like housing, healthcare, and benefits—so they can build stability. And in 2024, we launched our Apple-a-Day Café, which now serves nearly 300 hot meals a day, three days a week, with plans to expand to four in 2025.

As Northeast Seattle faces rising economic and social pressures, the need for our services has surged—up nearly 70% since 2022. With larger household sizes, the number of individuals we serve has more than doubled. At the same time, food donations are down and our food purchasing costs have quadrupled.

Meeting this challenge is only possible thanks to community members like you—people who care deeply about feeding neighbors and strengthening our community. Thank you for being part of this work."

NOW LET'S MAKE SOME NOISE!
