    Event description

In December, Popchops is bringing you life in plastic - and it’s effing fantastic.

For our last party of 2023, it’s the QUEER DANCE RAVE you know and love, with an exclusive live set from an international pop star. Get prepped for POPCHOPS X TOM ASPAUL!

Hailing from the UK, Tom Aspaul has established himself as an exciting voice in queer pop. With writing credits for the likes of Kylie (yes, our Kylie), LIZ and Becky Hill, Aspaul sold out his first tour in 2021 off the back of his debut album Black Country Disco. In 2022 he followed up with his sophomore record - the euphoric, no-skips dance-pop opus Life In Plastic. On December 9th we'll be partying with Tom at Rubix Warehouse for the Melbourne leg of his Planet Fantastic world tour.

Of course, we’ll also be joined by some of our fave drag legends: full-throttle pop princess Max Drag Queen, the new ‘it girl’ that has Naarm screaming: Xena Ghost & the ever-slaying Gigi Era fresh from her run on Drag Race Philippines S1. DJs Simon + Andy will be spinning your faves from Tove to Taylor, Kim to Kylie and Doja to Dua.

POPCHOPS is a night for queers, kweens, trans icons, daddies, demon twinks, enby babes and everyone else in our LGBT+ fam - it’s all love.

Like pop music itself, Popchops is an escape from reality - a night to paint the town red, get greedy and (watch me) dance, dance the night away.
