Positive Parenting workshops
Event description
It's rare to find a parenting series as good as this! Leveraging research and experience from youth workers, these fun, interactive workshops are full of insights and strategies for getting the best out of young people - that really work.
Tues 25 Feb: The first session focuses on how to parent in a Strengths-Based way by recognising and celebrating strengths and using them as a basis for achieving goals.
Tues 4 Mar: Session two looks at Respectful Relationships, including what a respectful relationship looks like and how to foster respect at home.
Tues 11 Mar: The final session delves into Building Ownership and Empowerment. This includes how to advocate for and with your kids, as well as how to get them to advocate for themselves and participate in decision making at home and in their own lives.
Sessions run from 7pm - 9pm.
Do come along to all three if you can - the interactive sessions are not only full of excellent information, tips, and ideas on ways to have great relationships and open communication with your kids, but you also get to connect, brainstorm and share ideas with other parents in similar boats.
Parenting is tough, but you don't have to do it on your own!
Note: These workshops are being partially funded by a philanthropic organisation who is focused on using their funds to help young people in Canterbury to thrive. So for this series, you are able to pay what you can afford, and they will cover the rest. So don't let cost hold you back from coming along. You can even choose to pay $0 if funds are tight.
