NYU Postdoctoral Affairs Apple Picking Day Trip

Join us for a fun-filled day of apple picking at a local orchard! This event is a great opportunity to relax, enjoy the crisp autumn air, and connect with fellow postdocs. On Saturday, September 26, 2026, we will meet at 550 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10016 at 8:00 AM (Eastern Daylight Time) to board the charter bus to Pennings Orchard.

During the trip, you'll have the chance to explore the beautiful orchard, pick your own apples, and savor the flavors of the season. Whether you're a seasoned apple picker or new to the experience, this outing promises to be a delightful day out of the city.

Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes, clothing, and cash. Each guest will be allowed to pick 10 lbs of apples (only one bag per family, but extra bags can be purchased on-site from the PDO team), enjoy a hay ride throughout the vineyard, and grab a bite to eat at the Pennings Farm Market or Pennings Cidery. The orchard is very crowded this time of year and lines can be long so you may want to bring your own picnic lunch. There is also a kiddie maze, play area, and guests are allowed to visit the farm animals (mini cows, goats, and pigs!).
