Pottery Workshop - CARVING AND SGRAFFITO
Event description
Platters & Bowls Workshop at Misfits
Sunday 7th of September | 3:30–5:30pm
Join us for a relaxed and creative afternoon at Misfits as we sink our hands into clay and explore the art of hand-building platters and bowls. This two-hour session is guided by ceramicist Lily, with the freedom to follow your own creative direction.
This is a choose-your-own-journey workshop — you can pinch, slab-build and drape with moulds, or combine the two. Along the way, you’ll explore surface design techniques like fabric and leaf imprints, carving, and sgraffito to add texture and personality to your piece.
Your finished work will be professionally glazed and fired, ready for pick-up in 6–8 weeks.
What’s included:
– 500g of clay
– All tools and materials
– A complimentary glass of beer or wine on arrival
– Firing and professional glazing
– Guided instruction from Lily
– A welcoming, social atmosphere
Spots are limited – come solo or bring a mate and enjoy an afternoon of making and mingling.
Please note:
Please note that while we take every precaution to guide you through the process, working with clay involves natural risks. Due to the nature of the material, pieces may crack, break, or develop air bubbles—especially if proper steps are not followed during creation. These outcomes, while unfortunate, are a normal part of the pottery process. As such, we are unable to offer refunds for any damaged or flawed pieces
