Power Meri film screening and PNG community event

Come along to see the film Power Meri that follows Papua New Guinea’s first national women’s rugby league team, the PNG Orchids, on their journey to the 2017 World Cup in Australia. These trailblazers must beat not only the sporting competition, but also intense sexism, a lack of funding, and national prejudice to reach their biggest stage yet.

Come for food, drinks, stalls and PNG culture from 1pm. Gather for the film at 3:30pm for screening starting at 4pm at the Uniting Church Community Hall in Kangaroo Point.

ALL funds raised on the afternoon will go to the project 'Food security and income for villages in PNG through village chicken rearing and reef restoration' supported by local Brisbane partners Kyeema Foundation and Hiri Coral.
